I was homeschooled in Abu Dhabi for my ninth-grade year and Melissa worked with me daily on my American 9th grade English curriculum which was challenging for me because I’m a non-native speaker. Melissa was so patient with me and very kind. Each day we worked on my writing and critical reading. My parents couldn’t believe how much my English improved. I look back at my writing at the beginning of the year and can hardly recognize it. Step by step, my writing was totally transformed.

I first took an SAT class with an institute and I didn’t understand the English at all. With Melissa, I learned all about English grammar and how to break down the reading questions. She was the best tutor I have ever worked with.

In addition to helping me raise my SAT scores, Melissa helped me review and revise four essays for college admissions. After reading each essay, she would ask probing questions like, “how did this experience change you?” or “how did you feel in this moment?” By forcing me to reflect and analyze, my essays really improved, and I was accepted to both UC Davis and UC Santa Cruz!

I started senior year AP English and my writing needed desperate help. Melissa’s suggestions were so useful, and she asked all the right questions to clarify my writing and make it more concise. Melissa’s friendly and relaxed manner was calming, and my stress level decreased a lot. I’m not sure how I would have survived my senior year without her.

At first my son did not want to do the tutoring sessions because he felt like “you are getting me a tutor because I’m not smart” but today after the math test he told me “ I feel like I’m the smartest guy on earth”. I’m so happy that he got the idea that tutoring is just to help and can really bring out hidden talents. Thank you for everything, I really appreciate the new confidence in my son.

This was our first time working with a tutor, and I was shocked at how just 90 minutes a week could makes such a difference. My daughter’s math grades improved dramatically and most importantly she didn’t dread her math homework. I wish we had found Melissa earlier.

My daughter worked with Melissa and she was able to increase her math score by 70 points. This provides her a significant advantage with college and scholarship applications. In addition to the SAT prep, we observed significant personal growth in our daughter as a student.

Melissa assisted my son with the college process and my husband and I are so thankful. At first, I thought that we could help him but even choosing the schools to apply to quickly became overwhelming. Melissa was super organized and guided my son through the college process in a professional yet approachable manner. My son felt confident in his college applications and we are keeping our fingers crossed as we wait for acceptances. Having Melissa’s guidance took a lot of stress out of the process and was money well spent.

Melissa has been great! She has been tutoring me for GRE, given that I am weak in Math - the way she explains everything is very organized and simple in a short period of time. She has given me the confidence and skills I need to have a good score in the exam. Highly recommend her for people who need someone that is easy to understand, Really wish I had a teacher like her in school!

My son really liked the way Melissa explained the SAT math problems. He wished he had a math teacher like her in school. It was our first experience with online tutoring and we were surprised by how personal it felt. I would hire her again in a New York minute!

I had the absolute pleasure of having Melissa Daniels help me through the English portion of the new SAT, and I can honestly say that it was possibly one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I needed help with the essay questions for my dental school graduate school applications in the United States. Melissa’s writing expertise was very valuable. She also worked with me on my interview skills and gave lots of good suggestions on how to express myself more clearly. I entered my interviews with new confidence and it made all the difference.

I didn’t know really know much about the colleges in the US. There were so many that I didn’t know where to begin. I only knew that because I had family in California, I wanted to be close to them. Melissa really asked me important questions about my career plans and possible majors. She took time to get to know me and I felt that I could connect with her. Because I didn’t really have a clue yet about a major, she suggested a strong liberal arts school. I liked how she made a small list of 5-6 colleges in California including a back up and stretch school. After lots of time talking about the vibe of each school as well as requirements, location, clubs etc, I decided to apply to four colleges using the common app. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to attend Loyola Marymount University and feel like it will be an excellent fit. I highly recommend Melissa’s services. She made the stressful college process much easier and actually sort of fun.
